Backend Engineer (dev ops experience a plus!)

We’re looking for an engineer with extensive experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, ideally), Django/Python, and API design.  The backend team also manages the Dev Ops duties currently so experience with that is a big plus (specifically AWS, Nginx, and experience with deployment and continuous integration frameworks).

Requirements

  • 4+ years working in a production environment in a developer capacity
  • Deep understanding of API and database design and optimization
  • Experience with some or all of the tech stack above
  • Great collaborator and communicator
  • Proven growth and development in a production environment
  • Demonstrable contributions to open source libraries or communities (Github, Stack Overflow, etc.) a plus

Software Engineer

Help us take our Web platform to the next level by designing and implementing developer tools, writing server-side code for high-volume web-based applications, creating robust CLI and API design, and deploying and maintaining replicable infrastructure and systems. In this position, you will have the opportunity to own and grow our Platform teams as we scale.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy and manage infrastructure, developer tools, and application code
  • Design and build robust applications and APIs built for high profile brands

Lead Node.js Engineer

Help us take our JavaScript-based Rapid Development Framework to the next level by designing and implementing platform tools, writing server-side code for high-volume web-based applications, and creating robust CLI and API design. VP Finance

The VP Finance role is integral to the Company’s operations and critical to its success – partnering with other functions through the development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities and procedures relating to financial management, revenue tracking and recognition, budgets, accounting policies, tax compliance and payroll. The VP Finance is the lead finance role at the Company

Responsibilities

  • Building a finance and operational support staff
  • Developing internal, external and board reporting materials
  • Managing implementation of financial systems (G/L and stock-based comp)
  • Managing the planning process
  • Managing the Company’s cap table
  • Leading/participating in all company fundraising and financing
  • Establishing a highly data-driven platform for managing company growth and operations

Qualifications

Education/Experience – Master's degree (M.B.A.) or equivalent; or eight to 15 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Big4 background and exposure to application of technical accounting preferred.

Computer Skills – Microsoft Excel (advanced) and other Office Suite products, working knowledge of G/L systems functions and capabilities and equity compensation software. The Company is currently using or planning on implementing Quickbooks, Expensify, Bill.com, Salesforce and eShares and familiarity with these platforms is a big plus.

Credentials - Certified Public Accountant or equivalent preferred.

HR Manager

The HR Manager role is integral to the Company’s operations and critical to its success. 

Responsibilities

I. Human Resources Management

  • Ensure HR compliance with local, state and federal regulations including but not limited to: recruiting, hiring, training, compensation, separations and policy development and implementation.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the Company’s HRIS to ensure it is accurate and current.
  • Issue and update HR polices and manuals and monitor related application of and compliance.
  • Conduct and oversee the documentation of employee relations issues and actions. 
  • Oversee recruiting status of all positions and manage external recruiters.

II. Employee Relations and Support

  • Conduct training on HR processes and policies.
  • Provide assistance and guidance to managers and staff on an as-needed basis for all HR-related concerns, policies and procedures and become a valued internal resource.

III. Offer Letters and Onboarding

  • Prepare offer letters and ensure approval of all offer details for employees and contractors.
  • Schedule and coordinate new employee on-boarding, including generating new hire paperwork, collecting all required documentation and entering into the Company’s HRIS.

IV. Annual Review Process

  • Manage the Company’s annual review process including developing the timeline and reviewer/reviewee communication and manage the review calendar.
  • Oversee distribution, collection, and documentation of Personnel Action Forms for pay changes, role changes, promotions and transfers.

V. Employee Benefit Administration

  • Oversee the enrollment in and maintenance of all Company benefit and incentive programs. Communicate changes in benefits or open enrollment processes as needed.
  • Explain benefits to employees, assist with enrollment and filing claims.
  • Reconcile monthly benefits invoices and contact benefits carriers to correct discrepancies.
  • Coordinate COBRA elections for former employees with the Company’s finance group.
  • Ensure all locations have proper compliance notifications / posters in place.

VIII. Record Keeping

  • Create and maintain accurate and current employee files.
  • Maintain personnel files to document changes in pay, department, location, tax status, address/phone number and employee actions.
  • Enter all pertinent information in the HR database. Design and develop reports from the systems as needed. 
  • Maintain records on medical insurance, workers comp and unemployment claims.
  • Handle miscellaneous inquiries, surveys, reports and correspondence regarding current and past employees.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of seven years of diverse experience in all areas of human resources ideally within larger and start-up environments.
  • Bachelor's degree required with HR-specific certifications preferred.
  • Working knowledge and proven application of CA and San Francisco compliance regulations.
  • Proven ability to identify, design and implement comprehensive HR policies and systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, confidentiality and diplomacy.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple demands.
  • Exemplary organizational skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Solid Microsoft Office skills and experience with SaaS-based HRIS and payroll systems.
